My foyer is done being painted and I’m in the process of decorating it for the big reveal!  A little secret, I’m actually rushing to get it done because a local magazine is doing a spread on our house and I am trying to get everything ready before they come!

One question for you guys, though.  I bought this quite large (14″ x 18″) cast iron longhorn skull for $80 at Home Goods and it was originally over $200 by Broyhill.  I kind of love it, but don’t know if it’s bordering on crazy.

What do you guys think?  Is it crazy?  or is it cool?

  • Cool. For that price, it’s worth it– it won’t be in style forever, but it’s a good, on-trend pop of fun.

  • I just looked at that this weekend at my local store! Totally love it.

  • I like it and I like the white and gold but if it doesn’t go with your space being cast iron a very easy paint change! Maybe understated, maybe even more funky!

  • I love it!

  • It’s both, but that’s why it’s awesome. I mean, why not, right?!

  • Absolutely cool! Love the gold horns. It is interesting and different without being overly distracting! Great find.

  • I love it! The last cabin I stayed at in the mountains actually had something really similar, surprisingly. And I really liked how it was a more artistic version of the real thing, because sometimes the real heads scare me haha! xo

  • Crazy cool 🙂 I say go for it!

  • Cool!

  • Cool! Go for it!

  • I think a home can have different personalities. All for mixing “crazy” with “cool.” I do it all of the time.

Look forward to hearing what path you chose.

  • It is a little bit of both, in a good way. Congrats on the spread by the way. I have a saying that I try to stick to: Trust the Gut. If your gut tells you to do it, do it, no matter what the price tag or label may say. I can’t wait to see the end result!

  • Cool!

I bought my husband a resin moose head for Christmas to hang in the study so I’m kinda biased!

  • COOL!!! No doubt.

  • Definitely cool– though perhaps as a Texan, I’m biased! xx
