Details with // Mandy from Fabric Paper Glue

Our regular bi-monthy ‘Details with’ column was moved to Tuesday this week to allow for a very exciting give-a-way tomorrow (of which I instagrammed a sneak peek this weekend)!

I’m excited to be showing you a few special glimpses from the home of Fabric Paper Glue creator and writer, Mandy.  If you aren’t familiar with Fabric Paper Glue, Mandy has the most ingenious ideas for everything from cocktails to crafts.  She is an avid sewer and makes beautiful clutches for her Etsy shop (like this gem, who’s cream twin I bought earlier this year and have instagrammed a few times).  I always look to Fabric Paper Glue for some colorful inspiration and the courage to add it to my home (you know I love my neutrals).  Keep Reading for more special details from her home!

Details With // Jenny from Hank and Hunt

Jenny Batt, who writes her own blog, Hank and Hunt as well as contributing for Oh Happy Day, The Sweetest Occasion, and Hellobee, is certainly one busy lady.  Not only is she the contributing DIY editor for some of my favorite blogs, but she’s also a mother to two little boys.  If anyone loves DIYs as much as I do, it’s Jenny.  I am so excited to have her showing three details from her home which keep her smiling.  Here are what these three photos mean to her, in her words:

ONE My newest trophy from the hunt this weekend. I’m crazy over it with my collection of mini plants.  TWO It’s a crazy cheap rug from Ikea that I just love. I have a thing for crazy mishmashes of color. The chair is from my husband’s job as a metal man after college and it’s green. I love green. THREE Faux malachite bowl in the most delicious shades of green.

Thanks Jenny!  For those of you who are newer to House of Earnest, every other Wednesday I share three photos from inside the home of influences from around the web in a column called Details With.  I love these little sneak peeks and hope you do you.  You can see past features here!

Have a FANTASTIC Wednesday!

Details With // Jeanne of Shop Sweet Things

ONE This is a chinoise bowl I just received from my husband for my mother’s day gift. I actually featured it in one of my “Sweet Things Under $20″ series and he surprised me with this gift. Now it’s sitting nicely on our kitchen buffet cabinet. TWO I have a thing for collecting knick-knacks, especially empty jars with nice labels. I like to display them on the top shelf in my kitchen along with some cooking books. THREE Since I don’t have an office space and my desk is placed behind my sofa, I don’t have a wall where I can pin pretty things or inspirations. So I use my refrigerator to serve as my inspiration board – gotta work everything you have when living in a small space!

I’m really happy to have Jeanne from Shop Sweet Things on House of Earnest to share with you some special details of her home.  I met Jeanne this past January at Alt and I was smitten with her at the first lunch!  She is fabulously stylish and insightful. She really blew me away with how she held herself – very calm and graceful; I began to wonder if she ever has an ‘off’ day!

Jeanne has been featured in Glitter Guide, Matchbook Magazine, Refinery 29 and much more. Her style and taste is totally enviable, and she serves up a dose of it daily on her blog, Shop Sweet Things.

Details With // Amanda Genther

Today is an exciting ‘Details With’, we have Amanda Genther from Amanda Genther Design Studio sharing three details from her home and studio. Amanda is a fabulous graphic designer and has an eye for fresh, minimalist concepts.  She believes that less is more, bigger isn’t always better, and that coffee is the new water (which i like).  Amanda is the one I went to earlier this year for a complete site and branding redesign and I couldn’t have had a better experience.  There is no doubt that her aesthetic in business translates to her home.  She has colorful, clean, and understated style with a little hint of mid-century. Take a look through Amanda’s favorite details!

ONE a collection of Sharpies I have next to my desk. I use them to sketch and add little touches of color around the office. TWO a handmade side table for our living room. It matches the custom legs on our media stand. THREE a few of our colorful dessert plates. I loved the pattern on them and HAD to have them.

I glad to share Amanda’s details with you! Don’t you just LOVE those plates?

Have a BEAUTIFUL Wednesday out there, guys!

Details with // Erika of Small Shop Studio

I’m so excited to have Erika on House of Earnest today sharing her favorite home details.  Erika has such an eye for style, and her home certainly reflects that.  It’s been featured in Glitter Guide and although there are so many amazing design elements, these three details are what make Erika feel right at home.

small shop details: royal hawaiian hotel vintage print

Aloha, it’s Erika from small shop! I’m so honored that Erin asked me to share three details in my home that make me smile. Because I grew up in Hawaii, it always makes me smile and will always hold a special place in my heart. And while my own aesthetic is not necessarily tropical, I have still found ways to incorporate little elements of my homeland into my home:

The first is an old photograph of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki — an icon from a classic era. I can almost hear the waves lap and the palm trees sway when I look at this!

small shop details: vintage hawaii coasters

I found these vintage coasters on Etsy.com. The black/gold combo could not be more perfect in my living room. And they’re just so fun.

small shop details: waikiki beach morning

We took this photo one morning on Waikiki Beach when our daughter was 18 months old. We were on California time and up early before the crowds. It was the most peaceful I’d ever seen Waikiki, and the perfect way to start our vacation.

Mahalo for having me today Erin! Hope you enjoyed these three little details. I’m off to listen to some slack key guitar now. ;o)
